Red headphones on an orange background with the text saying "Tune in to CES Tech Talk".

We can look forward to recordings of the sessions from the CTA Stage.

“CES is the world’s gathering place for all those who thrive on the business of consumer technologies. It has served as the proving ground for innovators and breakthrough technologies for 50 years — the global stage where next-generation innovations are introduced to the marketplace.” ~Consumer Technology Association.

The Stage for this global event is taking place in Las Vegas, Nevada January 8-11, 2019 with an anticipated attendance of 182K+, almost 5K companies with exhibitions and 1K Speakers. John Donovan, CEO of AT&T will be giving a Keynote talk about “5G Ushering in the 4th Industrial Revolution”. CES also recognizes outstanding design and engineering in consumer technology products with their CES Innovation Award. For 2019 there are 30 contenders with interesting products literally from A to Z: Aquio Bluetooth Waterproof Speaker Bottle to the Zumi RoboCar.

I am astounded with the variety of ground-breaking creations. Of course, there are computer items like wireless chargers for laptops, headphones and coding kits. Then there are novel improvements for the home like a gadget to connect you to endless meal inspiration and step-by-step recipes and a faucet that will dispense exactly a measured amount of water by voice commands and a small counter-top dishwasher that needs no plumbing and can quickly clean dishes, glasses and utensils with its own water reservoir. In the health arena, there are a wearable pH sensor, a battery-free hearing aid and an AI App that gathers information about the User’s hearing preferences and will automatically adjust to optimize the sound settings.

For those of us who are living vicariously through others and not able to attend in person. CES has promised recordings of the sessions from the CTA Stage. Here is the link that we will need: https://www.ces.tech/Events-Programs/CES-Tech-Talk-Podcast.aspx

Today, January 10th the featured event is “Smart Cities, Public Safety and Disaster Preparedness/Recovery”. It is good to know that there are people who are using their skills and talents to create tools and resources to help the greater good for the community at large.
